Dubai Land Department signs agreement with the University of Dubai
Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the University of Dubai. The government real estate organisation says that the move forms part of its commitment to strengthening its bonds with major local and international educational institutions in order to improve training and professional development for its employees.
The partnership agreement was formalised following the visit of a high-level delegation from the University of Dubai, headed by HE Dr. Eesa M. Bastaki, President of the university, to the headquarters of DLD. The deputation was hosted by HE Sultan Bin Mejren, Director General, DLD and a number of directors of the department’s various arms.
“We regard education as being one of the most important tools that we can utilise to ensure the continued development of our staff in their respective fields,” said HE Sultan Bin Mejren Director General, DLD. “On this occasion, we would like to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the University of Dubai, which is highly regarded as a leading local university, for their willingness to cooperate with us in this area. Our partnership with them will allow us to form a national cadre of DLD employees who possess enhanced skills and levels of knowledge that will allow them to more effectively serve Dubai’s real estate sector, which represents one of the main pillars of the national economy,” he added.
During the agreement signing meeting, the parties focused on the importance of strengthening cooperation between government departments and educational institutions in Dubai. The representatives discussed cooperative relations in the field of science and technology and the need for effective coordination within such strategic partnerships to successfully achieve common goals.
The terms of the agreement between DLD and the University of Dubai will lead to the setting up of academic support programmes for DLD staff. The university will provide space and technical equipment for weekly guidance sessions and will also invite department employees to attend cultural activities and awareness events relevant to its real estate line of business. DLD will sponsor their employees to engage in specialised courses in accordance with their needs, with the university designing and preparing dedicated training packages for the department. University of Dubai is one of Dubai’s premier academic institutions. The establishment is committed to delivering the highest standards of education by offering an advanced curriculum that has been designed to help students to assume leadership positions that will serve the national economy following graduation.
“This agreement brings a host of benefits to DLD, including improving the cognitive level of its staff and preparing them with skills backed by qualifications and knowledge that will allow them to provide a higher standard of service to all customers in the real estate sector,” added Bin Mejren.
Dr. Eesa M. Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, thanked Sultan Bin Mejren and the officials at DLD for their cooperation with the university and their interest in education and training programmes that will serve Dubai, its government and the private sectors. He added that through the agreement, DLD staff will be entitled to financial discounts on additional courses that they would like to take up, with the ultimate aim of the initiatives being the raising of academic achievement for those working in the department.
