Dubai Municipality announced 11% annual increase of the amount of construction waste it had to deal with in 2013 – the first time the figure has grown since 2007, Construction Week Online reported. Around 7.35 million tonnes of construction waste was produced last year by the Emirate’s industry, which is being taken as an indication of increasing investment in Dubai’s real estate sector. “This increase indicates the improvement of the economic situation and the increased trust in the real estate sector during this period,” said Naji Reda, head of waste management department at Dubai Municipality.
