OCI in talks to offload 50% stake in BESIX

OCI NV, a Netherlands-based company headed by Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris, has announced plans to sell its 50% stake in the BESIX engineering and construction group, Bloomberg has reported. The company is in talks with potential bidders for the stake, it said, without identifying the suiters. OCI is a producer of natural gas-based fertilisers, industrial chemicals, as well as a construction contractor and employs more than 72,000 people in areas including the US, Europe and the Middle East.
