Spending on creation of new buildings and extensions in Palestine hit $931.1m in 2013

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics issued lately a survey showing that the value of spending on the creation of new buildings and extensions to existing buildings in Palestine in 2013 amounted $931.1m. According to the results, the value of spending on the maintenance of existing buildings in Palestine, during the last year, amounted to $245.2m of which $183.8m were spent in the West Bank and $61.4m in the Gaza Strip, Middle East Business reported. A recent workshop at the Institute for Research and Economic Policy, MAS, found that investors from the construction sector made huge profits during a relatively short period of time (c.6 years).
