25 million Yemenis going hungry: WFP

The World Food Programme (WFP) has said it is stepping up its aid to Yemen a nearly half of the impoverished country’s population is going hungry, AFP has reported. More than 10 million of Yemen’s some 25 million inhabitants are either severely food insecure or teetering on the edge, the UN food agency said. The country is struggling with endemic poverty, political instability, large-scale displacement of Yemenis and refugee influxes from other countries, civil strife and rife insecurity.
