The American Institute of Architects confirms its esteemed speakers for the third annual industry conference in Doha
The American Institute of Architects has confirmed its list of high-profile speakers for its annual year-end conference and awards, hosted at the Hilton Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
The two-day conference, which commences on 14th November will host an array of industry specialists and government officials, including an address from the keynote speaker, Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD) founder and chairman, Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al Horr.
Operating under the theme of ‘Super & Small’, the conference will be taking a closer look at some of the more ambitious ‘Super Projects’, while paying attention to the smaller details that make them possible.
With speakers covering a wide range of topics including sustainability and collaborative approach, guests on the first day will include Hiroshi Okamoto AIA, former I.M. Pei Architect Senior Designer, who is credited with working on the Museum of Islamic Art, and who between 2005 – 2008 was the site representative and construction administrator.

With the awards ceremony and gala dinner being hosted at the Msheirb Enrichment Centre, delegates on day two can look forward to a tour of some of Qatar’s most epochal buildings, including Souk Waqif and Jean Nouvel’s Doha Tower.
