BDP has made a number of changes to the leadership of its Abu Dhabi studio to support its continued growth and exciting portfolio of new projects.

Firas Hnoosh has been appointed as design director and joins BDP from Gensler. He has experience of leading a range of mixed-use and high-rise projects throughout the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA and is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a LEED accredited professional.

Architect director Gary Dicken continues as studio leader. Gary has been with BDP for 28 years and has been based in the Middle East since 2010.

Other appointments include town planning director Steve Potter who will take up the role of business director, and company director Stephen Redfern takes up the chair of BDP’s MENA studios which also includes the Doha studio.

Stephen said of these changes: “Taking on someone of Firas’ experience reflects an exciting time for BDP in the Middle East and adds to the existing strengths of our studio. We have exciting projects completing such as the Wellington Academy for GEMS in Dubai, and the Qatar Foundation Academy projects at Al Wakra and Al Khor about to start on site. With these changes to our leadership, we hope to grow further our presence in the region and assist clients who appreciate the value of high quality design.”
