Today (Wednesday, January 29), is the last day of the ninth Annual Healthcare Insurance Forum and the Healthcare Innovation Summit. Both held atthe Dusit Thani Hotel in Dubai, this three-day event focuses on the innovation, development and support that the sector needs to continue to grow. Attracting top insurance firms, analytics consultants and an array of international visitors, attendees gatherto brainstorm and share best practises.
AMEinfo.com’s sister publication, POLICY caught up with CEO of the American Medical Tourism Association, Jonathan Edelheit, who said: “This is a great place for those from around the world to exchange thoughts and ideas. One of the problems in the region is that there is often a lack of expertise to take countries from A to B,” says Edelheit.
Keynote speakers, such as Dr Saif Al Jaibeji, vice-president ofAetna UAE, talked about available opportunities for insurers in the wider Mena region. Dr Sven Rohte,CEO of national health insurance at Daman, also gave a presentation on the same topic, but focussed on the needs of corporate customers. Robin Ali from the Dubai Health Authority, talked about using claims data as a tool for wider healthcare concerns.
