Dubai inflation up 2.17% in January

According to data Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC), the emirate’s inflation rate rose 2.17% year-on-year in January, Gulf News has reported. The increase was a result of a rise in the prices of education (3.99%), housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (3.87%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.66%), health (2%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.65%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.98%), transport (0.78%), recreation and culture (0.56%), miscellaneous goods and services (0.30%) and restaurants and hotels (0.06%).
