Dubai market dives amid Ukraine worries

The Dubai financial market equity index DFMGI plummeted 2.40 per cent to hit 4,726.57 points on Wednesday, August 6. Asian markets gave negative input on rising concerns Russia and Ukraine might head to a full-scale military escalation due to Ukrainian forces advancing towards its Eastern border with Russia.

Emaar Properties failed to sustain its two-month high above AED10, ending off 3.90 per cent at AED9.60.

Arab Insurance or ARIG gained the most, finishing 10 per cent higher at AED3.30.

Three shares advanced, while 26 declined in value.
