Dubai Trade, the premier cross-border facilitator, is gearing up to honour its best e-Services performers at its flagship annual event which is into its 7th successful edition. The 7th E-Services Excellence Award (ESEA) will be held in February 2015, giving the trade and logistics community in Dubai the opportunity to increase their online transactions through to the end of the year, increasing their opportunity to win one of the award’s nine categories.
Nominating the winners is based on well-defined criteria that reflect the growth in e-Services adoption on the Dubai Trade Portal (www.dubaitrade.ae) during 2014. To be considered for the award, a company’s overall online adoption of key services must be a minimum of 80%, although the number and volume of transactions will also be taken into consideration.
H.E. Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Chairman of Dubai Trade said, “Our cross-border trade and facilitation has led the UAE to be ranked number one in the Enabling Trade Index for the MENA region, according to the latest Global Enabling Trade Report 2014, prepared by the World Economic Forum. Dubai will continue to prosper and grow in the smart government and smart city era under the wise and prudent leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Dubai Trade is proud to support that growth and the UAE’s continued top performance as the centre and enabler of trade of the wider region. Key to that success is our customers making full use of our online services and we are delighted to recognise and thank them annually through these awards.”
Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade has urged the trade and logistics community in Dubai to fully adopt online services to statistically boost their chance to win the prestigious ESEA award. “The usage of our 720 e-Services increased by an astounding 94% in the first half of 2014, compared with the same period last year. We are very pleased with the uptake and look forward to recognising our most engaged Dubai Trade portal users. We remain committed to providing our customers with easy and efficient online services to facilitate their day to day business transactions,” Al Bastaki added.
The nine categories of the ESEA Award include the highest adopters of various key e-Services in the following categories: Importer of the Year, Exporter of the Year, Re-Exporter of the Year, Shipping Agent of the Year – Containerized Cargo, Shipping Agent of the Year – General Cargo, Freight Forwarder of the Year, Clearing Agent of the Year, Haulier of the Year, and Free Zone Company of the Year.
