Jordan’s EAT Restaurant Group CEO, Omar Tabbaa, has been selected as one of 28 High-Impact Entrepreneurs leading 20 companies to join the Endeavor Network at the 51st International Selection Panel held in Dubai, from Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Greece, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, Miami, Morocco, Turkey and the UAE.
The International Selection Panel is the culmination of a rigorous multi-step Search and Selection process aimed at identifying and fostering high-impact entrepreneurs worldwide in order to catalyze global economic growth.
During the selection panel, candidates were interviewed by prominent local and international industry experts ranging from Silicon Valley venture capital executives to Endeavor network business leaders from 11 countries, including Jordan.
Endeavor provides its entrepreneurs, who initiate private sector development, create thousands of jobs and build sustainable growth models in their home countries, with customized services by local business mentors and volunteers from Fortune 500 companies, consulting firms and top U.S. business schools.
Founded in 1998, EAT Restaurant Group offers four themed, casual dining restaurant brands in 11 locations across Jordan. With a vertical expansion approach, EAT expanded into Bahrain and Palestine at the beginning of 2013 and 2014 with its brands ‘Casereccio’ and ‘Lemon Shisha Bistro’, and aims to operate more brands in Bahrain. In addition to recently upgrading its customer loyalty card program and taking its Group-wide food delivery service online, EAT also introduced a new concept by the name of ‘Café Social’, presenting a unique menu and atmosphere. Moreover, EAT plans to add 26 restaurants in eight countries over the next three years with heavy concentration in the GCC. It also intends to explore opportunities in North America and Europe.
“EAT Restaurant Group is the first company operating in the Food and Beverage industry to join our portfolio, and for good reason. Tabbaa has demonstrated his ability to push the boundaries of the Jordanian restaurant market by introducing new themes and cuisines,” said Rasha Manna, Managing Director of Endeavor Jordan.
In turn, Tabbaa commented on his experience at the event, saying, “The International Selection Panel presented great opportunities for networking with highly influential people. To me as an entrepreneur, the event was a truly a life-changing experience and is definitely one of the highlights of my career. It gave me the opportunity to take a step back and evaluate my business from a bird’s eye view to identify weaknesses, strengths and opportunities.”
Tabbaa is one of 17 Jordanian Endeavor Entrepreneurs to be selected from across a variety of industries since Endeavor Jordan began its operations in 2008. Worldwide, Endeavor currently supports 872 High-Impact Entrepreneurs from 558 companies in 19 countries.
