Egypt posts smallest rise in annual urban inflation since November 2013

Egypt’s state statistical body CAPMAS has announced that the country’s annual urban inflation rose to 8.3% in May, Ahram has reported. However, monthly urban inflation declined in May to record -0.7%, compared with 0.2% in the previous month, it said. May’s inflation rise is the smallest increase since November 2013 when Egypt’s urban inflation hit a three-year high of 13%.
