Egypt’s core inflation hits 9.9% in March

Egypt’s central bank has said the country’s annual core inflation, which strips out subsidised goods and volatile items including fruit and vegetables, increased to 9.9% in March from 9.7% in February, Reuters has reported. Last week, the country’s official statistics agency CAPMAS said that Egypt’s annual urban consumer inflation rate stood at 9.8% in March, unchanged from February.
