The Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) hosted H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Humaid Bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, a member of the Board of Directors at RAKIA, as he inaugurated the newest branch of the Environment Protection and Development Authority (EPDA) at RAKIA’s corporate offices.
The arrival of the EPDA to Al Hamra Industrial Park is RAKIA’s latest move toward streamlining regulatory operations for its tenants. By nature of the new branch’s proximity to RAKIA’s parks and facilities, the office will service RAKIA’s clients almost exclusively, with online application procedures set to launch within the year.
“As part of our strategic economic development plan for Ras Al Khaimah, the opening of the EPDA branch in RAKIA’s corporate headquarters is the first of many new developments that will ensure efficient business and industrial development in the emirate,” H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Humaid Bin Abdullah Al Qasimi stated.
Dr. Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, Director General of the EPDA, and other senior executives of the EPDA and RAKIA joined H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Humaid Bin Abdullah Al Qasimi in officiating the opening ceremony.
Commenting on the value that the EPDA branch office will bring to RAKIA, Dr. Saif said, “This EPDA office is essential to Ras Al Khaimah if we hope to ease and expedite business licensing, and ensure that all operational processes are compliant with the standards of the UAE’s federal and international laws.”
Dr. Saif also added that Ras Al Khaimah has been among the most environmentally friendly emirates in the UAE for the past three years, and authorities in Ras Al Khaimah intend to maintain this standard of environmental stewardship with the guidance of the EPDA.
