Etisalat, banks pull Abu Dhabi bourse higher

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange General Index (ADXGI) advanced by 2.23 per cent to close at 4,753.79 points on Thursday, March 13. Market bellwether Etisalat, the most valuable firm in the UAE, closed 0.10 per cent higher at AED11.90. The Union National Bank and First Gulf Bank added 0.30 per cent and 0.75 per cent, respectively. Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (or TAQA), the biggest oil and gas firm in the UAE, fell against the trend, ending 2.94 per cent lower to reach AED1.32.
