As part of the Summer for Change charitable initiative, Eton Institute, the UAE’s largest language and professional development training provider, hosted a free Breast Cancer Awareness workshop, to raise awareness about the cause.
In collaboration with Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) and conducted by experts from Pink Caravan, this informative workshop discussed the prevention, early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Pink Caravan is a pan UAE breast cancer awareness & screening campaign and an initiative of Friends of Cancer Patients. According to the charity, one out of every 8 women develops breast cancer at some point in her life.
Between 1990 and 2010, the number of cases has almost doubled, from 80,000 to 150,000, proving the importance of regular examinations.
“This workshop enabled female participants to understand the disease and the steps to follow to carry out self-examination. This knowledge is essential for every woman to ensure an early detection of the cancer,” commented Hana Fuchs, Marketing Director at Eton Institute. “We encourage every woman to be aware of the disease and take the necessary steps to prevent it,” she added.
