As part of its ongoing fertility awareness campaign, the inventors of IVF, Bourn Hall Clinic, will offer free private consultations for UAE nationals during December 2013. Couples considering seeking IVF, as well as those interested in genetic testing and gender selection, can book an appointment with one of Bourn Hall’s fertility specialists and patients will also be offered free fertility checks to identify any issues for concern.
Rates of infertility are particularly high in the MENA region. According to the World Health Organization, a couple is considered infertile if they have been trying to conceive for two years. Infertility is on the rise worldwide and while one in seven couples face infertility in Europe, it is around one in six in the MENA. Contributing factors include diet, lifestyle, genetic factors, a high incidence of polycystic ovary syndrome and the effects of heat.
Dr Diana Kayal said, ”we are here to help couples on their journey to parenthood and a large part of that is education. It is our objective to reach out to as many people as possible in order to help them understand why they may be facing fertility issues and what treatments are available if needed.”
The UAE national initiative is part of Bourn Hall’s ongoing fertility awareness campaign. The clinic also hosts regular free fertility seminars for anyone interested in attending, covering a number of different topics relating to fertility, infertility and IVF. The seminar events include the opportunity to tour the state of the art facility, which is a unique opportunity for couples to see behind the scenes what happens at a fertility and IVF clinic.
