Five Omani firms expected to float IPOs in 2014

Oman is expected to see at least five companies, including two independent power producers (IPPs), float initial public offerings in 2014, Times of Oman has reported. These companies are Omantel, Al Suwaidi Power Co, Al Batinah Power Co, Al Maha Ceramics, Oman Arab Bank (OAB), which will be offering share offers worth hundreds of millions of rials to the investing public on the Muscat Securities Market (MSM), the report said. Oman Arab Bank is also planning an initial public offering by the middle of the year, said Ahmed Saleh al Marhoon, director-general of the MSM.
