The 30th GAIF general conference takes place this week (1st Sept – 4th Sept) in the seaside resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Celebrating 50 years, the General Arab Insurance Federation hosts a conference that brings together insurance and reinsurance professionals from the across the Middle East region.
Although the opening ceremony is not till tomorrow. The conference opened the doors of the renowned Jolie Ville conference centre in Sharm El Sheikh today.
Sessions will commence tomorrow, but today served as an opportunity for delegates to meet and greet. Policy magazine is present at the four day event, and speaking with some of the attendees, there seems to be a beam of optimism regarding the conference.
Abdelkhaliq Raoof Khalil, GAIF secretary general, introduces the event by stating: “The conference will take place amidst a state of instability, representing an important opportunity for all countries to discuss the effects of this on the Arab Insurance Industry. How to overcome the consequences and utilise the industry’s tremendous potential and talent.”
