On Tuesday July 8, the Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) signed the Dhs1.45 billion ($395 million) contract with Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE) to deliver Package #8 of its Jewel of the Creek mixed-use project in Port Saeed, Dubai, UAE.
This project forms a significant part of the Dhs3 billion Jewel of the Creek development, which HLG has worked on since 2012 when the Group was appointed to construct and complete the substructure works for four basement levels and ground floor slabs on the waterside site between Al Maktoum Bridge, Baniyas Road and the Floating Bridge.
H.E Mr. Khalil Al Sayegh, the General Manager of DIRE, stated that in line with the direction of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, DIRE is proud to be engaging with local companies and banking institutions to encourage investment and invest in Dubai’s skilled workers and labourforce.
“This is a significant project in terms of geographical location and strategic importance, and in terms of technical and commercial value.
“We are proud and elated to have awarded Package 8 of our Jewel of the Creek project to the Habtoor Leighton Group, as a continuation of HLG’s accomplishment in delivering previous work on Jewel of the Creek. Upcoming packages for the Jewel of the Creek project will include a 4-star hotel, mixed-use residential offices and retail.
“We wish HLG every success in fulfilling the requirements of this project in a timely manner,” H.E Mr. Khalil Al Sayegh said.
HLG Chairman, Mr. Riad T. Sadik, said HLG was proud to have been selected to deliver Package 8 – continuing the Group’s partnership with DIRE and playing a part in the construction of this landmark project.
“Jewel of the Creek is of great significance to HLG and we are honoured to have been selected as DIRE’s contractor of choice,” said Mr. Riad T. Sadik.
