The lacklustre summer blues kept its grip on the Dubai stock market, as the Dubai Financial Market General Index (DFMGI) was down by 0.13 per cent to close at 4,805.07 points, amid thin trading, on Wednesday, August 13.
Insurance firms were demanded, with Oman Insurance Company gaining 14.97 per cent to reach AED4.07. Dubai National Insurance and Reinsurance (DNIR) jumped 10 per cent to hit AED3.30. Earlier in the day, DNIR revealed that its net income in H1 2014 advanced by 22.8 per cent year on year to reach AED21.177 million ($5.77m).
Kuwait-based International Financial Advisors lost the most, ending off by 6.74 per cent to AED0.858.
Emaar finished the session 0.50 per cent lower at AED10.10.
