Kuwait current account surplus shrinks 8%

Preliminary data from Kuwait’s central bank indicate the country’s current account surplus shrank by nearly 8% to KD20.3bn ($72.2bn) in 2013, compared with the previous year, Reuters has reported. The 2013 surplus was equivalent to 39.6% of 2012 gross domestic product, down from 43%. Kuwait has not yet released 2013 GDP data.
