Qatalum has participated at the 15th GCC Joint Exhibition, held at the Expo Centre Sharjah from 26 to 30 May 2014.
Qatalum was exhibiting and networking at the Expo GCC event, a great opportunity for promoting, marketing and introducing Gulf products. In addition to serving as a launch pad for emerging SMEs and seed ventures, the exhibition opens up networking opportunities with businesspeople and investors from across the region, which serves as a wide potential market for such products – including the massive growth in aluminium.
For Qatalum, this has been a chance to solidify its position as a regional leader while promoting Qatar within the Gulf. The country currently hums with new infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of the hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the Qatar National Vision 2030 – the multi-pillar national development strategy for economic, social and environmental progress.
Qatalum, as one of the region’s leading aluminium smelters and a crown jewel in Qatar’s corporate landscape, sees its role as important in promoting industrial diversification, supporting downstream industries, and standing behind the social and environmental pillars of Qatar’s long-term strategy – particularly in terms of Qatalum’s ‘Qatarisation’ policy and sustainability initiatives.
Qatalum Comunication’s Officer Khalifa Al-Khuzaei, who attended as part of Qatalum’s delegation, said at the conclusion of the conference: “By participating at Expo GCC, we see the opportunity to be involved in one of the important economic events in the GCC region. Expo GCC 2014 is promoted across the GCC to buyers, traders, manufacturers and contractors who are interested in products which are made in the region, and as the centre of gravity in the aluminium industry shifts to emerging markets, this has been a great opportunity.
