The Qatar Exchange 20 Index fell by 0.42 per cent to 13,104.75 points on Thursday, May 15, which marked the first day when Qatar entered the MSCI emerging market index universe. Qatar Insurance fell by 1.91 per cent to close at QAR77.20. Earlier in the day, QIC revealed that it won a contract to insure the new Hamad International Airport for a value of QAR46 billion ($12bn). The insurance starts from May 1. Qatar Airways, the state-owned carrier, revealed that it would shift its operations to Hamad International on May 27.
