Qatar’s Statistics Authority has said the country’s annual inflation edged down slightly to 2.6% after a 2.7% increase in the previous month and a 3.6% jump over the previous year, Reuters has reported. The rents and energy costs, which account for more than 32% of consumer expenses, jumped 5.7% from a year earlier in March and rose 0.6% month-on-month, while food, beverage and tobacco prices, which account for 13% of the basket, rose 1% year-on-year but fell 0.2% from a month earlier, the authority said.
