QPM, one of the region’s premier project management companies and the first Qatari firm in the field, has thrown its support behind the 2nd Annual Middle East Smart Cities Summit ‘Gateway to a Smart and Sustainable Future’ as the event’s official Project Management Partner.
To be held on the 9th and 10th of December 2013 at the Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel in Doha, the event is being organized by Fleming Gulf – one of the leading providers of business intelligence through industry specific conferences, webinars and skills enhancement training courses.
Having been an active partner, supporter, participant and expert source of information at various meetings, conferences and summit’s, QPM’s partnership with this event is consistent with its aim of encouraging further exchanges of knowledge, information and experience among industry experts in order to come up with viable solutions towards the achievement of regional and global sustainable development objectives.
Additionally, QPM is involved in Lusail City project one of Qatar’s most advanced cities that will employ the latest information technology trend and tools to support people’s lifestyles and a country’s economic prosperity. Extending across an area of 38 square kilometres and includes four exclusive islands and 19 multi-purpose residential, mixed use, entertainment and commercial districts, Qatar’s city of the future will eventually have a total estimated population of 450,000. At the moment, QPM is working on Lusail Highway project – a QR1.63bn, 24-month project undertaking – and Lusail Entertainment Island – a 23 hectare site located east of the Marina District in the Lusail City Development, north of Doha.
“QPM is relentless in its pursuit for systems, methods and technologies that significantly contribute to smart and sustainable development goals,” said Mr Mohamed Jassim Al-Othman, Acting CEO of QPM. “We believe that through these kinds of discussions, everyone will learn from each other and come up with the best ideas, methods and technologies of a regional and global standard that will assist us all in creating a smarter and more sustainable future for the next generations. QPM is truly honored to be a partner of this summit and to be able to significantly contribute in such discussions,” he added.
