Saudi inflation falls to 2.9% in January

According to data by Saudi Arabia’s Central Department of Statistics, the kingdom’s annual inflation eased marginally to 2.9% in January, the lowest level since April 2007, from 3% in the previous month, Reuters has reported. Prices of food and beverages rose 5% year-on-year in January, but dipped 0.1% from the previous month, while housing and utility costs climbed 3.7% on an annual basis and 0.4% month-on-month, the figures showed.
