HH. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Finance Minister, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, has approved the contract with regards to the construction of the new civic body centre in Al-Kifaf area near Al-Karama.
It was announced by Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah , Director General of Dubai Municipality.
According to him, the project would be completed at a total cost of Dhs24m and the work is expected to start in May.
“The building will become one of land marks of Dubai and will be a good model of Green Building,” he said while explained the project.
He said the construction comes in line with the directives of HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al- Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, regarding creation of an environmentally-sustainable city and the promotion of green economy.
He said the project is a two-storied building that includes service counters and offices built in an area of 60,000 square meter.
Two lifts and escalators will be provided in the building in addition to waiting area and a multi-purpose hall.
Eng. Lootah said the new project comes as part of Dubai Municipality’s keenness on setting up municipality centres in different areas of the Emirate to fulfil the needs of public hailing from different social and geographic strata.
He hoped that new centre might be a great support for citizens and residents in Al Kifaf area as it may ease customer transactions and service procedures.
