Furthering their commitment to the national objective of promoting local talent, The Zubair Corporation has reached a milestone on Omanisation efforts at Elco Engineering – one of the Corporation’s subsidiary companies. This milestone was celebrated with a welcoming ceremony for 28 young Omanis who were recently trained and inducted to be a part of the Company.
The Zubair Corporation acquired Elco Engineering early in 2013 with the vision to enhancing capability and being able to add increased local value to the numerous products & services offered by the Corporation.
Robert Ambrose ,Chief Operating Officer Energy & Logistics, at The Zubair Corporation, commented, “At the time of purchase, Elco Engineering had a good Omanisation level, and as a part of The Zubair Corporation, it was essential that the Omanisation standards were met. Hence, the Corporation immediately took charge and recruited 28 young Omani trainees. These trainees initially underwent a comprehensive six month training program delivered by The National Training Institute (NTI) and have now joined Elco Engineering for further on the job training.”
He added, “In addition to our support towards growing In-Country Value, in line with the national vision, our endeavours to develop local talent have also been a top priority at The Zubair Corporation. Therefore, it gives us real pleasure to witness the growth of these 28 Omanis who have been inducted into the Company and we welcome them to the Corporation.”
The welcome ceremony, held in Nizwa was attended by officials from the various government departments, OPAL and senior representatives from The Zubair Corporation.
