Accommodating to the large numbers of entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses who have expressed interest in applying for the Centre’s membership and the Direct Support Programme, Zubair Small Enterprises Centre has held a number of orientation sessions since the start of its campaign regarding the programme that was launched in its second round in June 2014.
The orientation sessions cover multiple aspects, mainly including an introduction to the Centre and its services, in addition to an explanation of the selection criteria that the Centre’s team looks at for selecting winners of the Direct Support Programme including the preparation of the Business Plan and Feasibility Studies of the applicants’ projects. Business advisors of the Centre elaborate on how to prepare a business plan and what are the key elements to consider while writing such plans in a proper, clear and professional manner.
During the sessions, Zubair SEC’s team answers questions and inquiries by the attendees, and makes sure that all information needed is comprehensively provided, so they can proceed with filling in the application forms to join the Centre and prepare the required documents to be considered for the Direct Support Programme.

The Direct Support Programme rewards the Centre’s members who join its membership through their existing small businesses or concepts of businesses and who prove throughout their work with the Centre their commitment towards success and dedication in applying the consultancy and advice provided to them by the Zubair SEC team. These members’ projects and businesses should also reflect proper strategic planning and accurate feasibility studies that reflect their owners’ eagerness to apply best business administration measures with the assistance of Zubair SEC. Accordingly, selected members for the Direct Support Programme receive extra direct advisory and consultancy services in addition to a financial grant to support their businesses.
Although all members of Zubair SEC benefit from the advisory and training services, financial facilitation, and support that the Centre and its network of cooperative partners provide, only a specific number of members get selected every year for the Direct Support Programme, as an approach to create positive competitiveness amongst members and to encourage them to work harder and be more committed and dedicated towards achieving their objectives and ambitions.
The first group of members selected for Zubair SEC Direct Support Programme was announced in December 2013 and have so far benefited immensely from the additional advantages they received through the Direct Support Programme.
Zubair SEC, for the duration of around two months, will start receiving applications by existing members or new members to be considered for the Programme. Applied projects and businesses will be assessed as well as members’ performance throughout the months to follow, and in December 2014, Zubair SEC will announce the new selected group for the Direct Support Programme 2014-2015.
