The year started very well for 108 HSBC Bank Oman S.A.O.G. customers as they were rewarded with cash prizes valuing more than OR300,000 in total as part of the final Mandoos Savings Scheme quarterly draw in 2013.
As announced earlier this month, HSBC Bank Oman launched its new Mandoos Savings Scheme for 2014, with a grand prize of OR1m on offer at the end of the year for ten lucky customers to share.
In the last Mandoos draw under the 2013 scheme, the OR100,000 grand prize went to Nasser Mohammed, an HSBC Bank Oman Haima branch customer, while two other lucky customers won 12 times their monthly salary, up to OR30,000. A further five Mandoos customers received OR20,000 each and one hundred customers received OR1,000 each.
Grand prize winner, Nasser Mohammed, said that this is the first time he has ever won a cash prize and expressed his surprise at receiving a call from an HSBC Bank Oman representative. Realising the call was legitimate after being asked a few account-related questions, Nasser has been smiling ever since and plans to invest the money in his business and savings as well as allocating an amount for charity. He said that earlier that day, he had visited his HSBC Bank Oman branch to enquire about the Mandoos Savings Scheme, which further added to his surprise.
Under the new 2014 Mandoos Savings Scheme, in addition to the OR1m grand prize that will be shared among ten lucky winners next December, 30 Mandoos customers will each receive OR1,000 every month, and 4 customers will win OR50,000 each, in March and June. The new scheme is also easier to join as customers can apply for a Mandoos account from the comfort of their own home using HSBC Bank Oman’s website.
