In an unprecedented step in the private sector in Kuwait, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) launched a medical leave service for its employees. The new service links KFH’s human resources system ‘Oracle’ to Kuwait’s civil service system, which allows for logging in any medical leaves. This comes as a step in KFH’s strategy to automate work procedures.
Executive Manager Personnel Affairs Mohammed Al-Jallal stated that such a step facilitates procedures followed by employees who need a sick leave note at governmental clinics. He added that the employee needs to enter the details of his sick leave and the diagnosis of the doctor on Oracle. After the leave is over, the employee can resume working without the need to log into the Oracle system to apply for a return from leave request that had to be approved by the employee’s supervisor.
Moreover, Al-Jallal explained that governmental clinics will be linked to the Civil Service Commission that will notify KFH electronically of the sick leave. He noted that this service applies for governmental clinics only now, since private sector clinics will be linked to the system later on.
He added that such services aim to improve the performance of the Human Resources , and stressed that KFH will work relentlessly to offer new services through its Human Resources, since it is one of the bank’s most important assets, not to mention being a long-term investment.
