Kuwait International Bank ( KIB ) succeeded in achieving compliance to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) Version 2.0. The completion PCI DSS V.2.0 project marks KIB ‘s continuous endeavors for providing world-class systems and protecting credit and debit cardholders information for the second consecutive year following the initial certification awarded by SISA Information Security, leading QSA Company in the Middle East region.
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a widely accepted set of standard intended to optimize the security of credit, debit and cash card transactions and protection of cardholders against misuse of their personal information. It is also a result of aligned policies of American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa International, promotes the implementation of high level security standards for protecting payment card information.
A ceremony that was attended by the IT PCI project team was been held to honor KIB employees who have taken part in completing the project that was headed by Eng. Eman Abdulwahab Altabtabai and coordinated through Mr. Deepu Thomas Philip and Mr. Mario Mendes.
Certificate has been handed over to Eng. Eman Abdulwahab Altabtabai, Basil Al-Suwaidan and Deepu Thomas Philip including entire KIB team by Mr. Nitin Bhatnagar (Head- Business Development and Sales – SISA Information Security) and Alok Dhage Narayan (PCI-QSA).
Eng. Eman Abdulwahab Altabtabaiy, Senior Manager, Technical Support and Planning, and the PCI DSS Project Manager at KIB, said, “This project has seen a success story for the 3rd consecutive year at KIB. This year the certification enabled us to cover a wide range of processes, branches and activities across the bank and it marks our success in implementing world-class standards in this area. It is an important endorsement of KIB’s systems for its ability to protect customer’s information with the highest levels of security.
