The Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) will be adding into its professional cadres a new elite group of talented young nationals in its various departments and branches across the country
The new move comes in view of the job applications received by the Bank after its participation in the 16th National Career Exhibition, which was held in Sharjah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The Career Exhibition, which aimed to empower national graduates by opening up career opportunities in the country’s flourishing banking and financial sector, government and private sectors, was held in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, with the participation of more than 100 government and private entities in the financial sector.
The move comes in line with the Bank’s annual policy to support Emiratization and enhance its position as the best institution to Emiratize jobs in the UAE’s banking sector by focusing on boosting Emiratization in its various departments, sections and branches, as well as by maintaining its Emiratization rate of 40 percent.
The SIB Management is currently considering applications submitted by fresh graduates and other job seekers with experience after classifying these applications in conformity with the Bank’s plans requirements to employ young Emiratis with abilities and potential in preparation to put the right person in the right place according to each one’s experience that qualifies him to hold his post with distinction and efficiency.
During the Career fair, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, visited the SIB Stand where he viewed a painting bearing the logo of “Sharjah Islamic Cultural Capital” that was decorated by the names and signatures of SIB Staff, which was dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi from the employees. Sheikh Abdullah Al Qasimi expressed his admiration of the painting and in the innovative idea which was created by SIB staff to support the “Sharjah Islamic Cultural Capital 2014″ celebrations.
The Bank made the best use of its participation in promoting its development schemes designed for its employees since the first day of joining work, to highly train them to be qualified to hold high-profile positions. Among these schemes are Bedayati, Marhaba, Massar, Ruwaad, and Tammoh, as well as the “summer training”, which comprises a package of programs that are designed to raise the efficiency of all bank staff.
Speaking on this occasion, Eman Jassim, Head of Human Resources Group at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: “Our Bank participates in all Emiratization exhibitions in the country, and is keen to designate vacant career opportunities for young Emiratis in line with its efforts to encourage and motivate Emiratis and make use of their talents and abilities in compliance with the bank’s objectives, mission and plans. We will continue to press ahead with this approach to attract talented Emirati nationals and help them develop their potential and skills to reach prestigious, competitive and professional levels.”
She added, “SIB has concluded several agreements to recruit fresh Emirati graduates, such as the agreement with the Department of Human Resources in Sharjah, which resulted in employing 17 Emiratis. It also organized the 2nd edition of Visions 2 Reality to support Emiratization initiatives of our leaders. The Bank has recently recruited 50 new Emirati graduates and appointed them in various departments and branches, and we strive this year to employ more new talented and qualified Emirati nationals in the banking and financial sector through our participation in the National Career Exhibition 2014.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Sheikh Abdullah Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, honoured Abdullah Al Owais, Head of Wealth Management at SIB, during the Human Resources Development awarding ceremony in the Banking and Financial Sector, for the category of Emiratis working in higher management positions.
Sharjah Islamic Bank has adopted Emiratization policy since 2006 and set annual strategic plans for the development of UAE National talent. The bank has reaped the fruits of this strategy through outstanding achievements represented in winning several awards.
It won the award of the highest rate of Emiratization among private institutions across the GCC in 2006, and the Best Chief Executive Award in 2006, which was given in the name of HE Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of SIB, in 2007. SIB also won the Human Resources category of the Human Resources Development Award during the 15th National Career Exhibition, and many other outstanding achievements.
