Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI) recently signed up with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) initiative that engage in areas of human rights, labor and environment in order to achieve the common objectives of building a sustainable and inclusive global community.
AMSI is the first school in the Middle East to sign up with the United Nations Global Compact. In order to become part of the United Nations Global Compact community, Academic institutions must meet the requirements set forth by the committee before being approved. With over 12,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders from over 145 countries, the UNGC is the largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative in the world.
Mr. Adonis Nasr, Chief Executive Officer at AMSI said “from within our mission as educators and managers of schools at Al Mawakeb and the International School of Arts and sciences- ISAS, we strive to set examples for our students. Our collaboration with the United Nations Global Impact initiative brings forth this commitment. At AMSI schools, right at the core of the delivery process, where future leaders are being molded, we strive to bring forth inspiring moments of management and leadership, and with them the relevant exposure for our students.”
The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses and non-businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Academia plays a crucial role in this through thought leadership, research, educational resources, learning know-how, and educational infrastructure; this sector can increase knowledge and understanding of corporate responsibility, and thereby advance the agenda of the Global Compact at the local and global level.
