The Dubai and Abu Dhabi Chapters of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) have jointly won the “Best ICAI Overseas Chapter 2013″ Award for the excellent work undertaken by them in the areas of professional development, community services, membership and student services and their contribution to the growth of the accounting profession in the UAE.
The above prestigious award was given at the 64th Annual Function of ICAI held at New Delhi on Tuesday, 11 February 2014 at which the Honorable Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Kapil Sibal and the Honorable Union Minister of Minority Affairs, CA K. Rahman Khan were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour and where more than 1,000 members from ICAI across India attended.
In a statement issued by the ICAI Dubai and Abu Dhabi Chapters, the Chairmen, CA Nandakumar and CA Padmanabha Acharya said that the recognition of being selected as the best Chapter from among the 23 Chapters that ICAI has worldwide is a great achievement for the excellent work that has been carried out by all the members since the inception of the Chapters and the support, encouragement and guidance received from past Chairmen, ICAI, the UAE government and the various private organizations in the UAE. This award now places a greater responsibility on the members and will give them the impetus to work alongside the government and business community in strengthening the accounting profession in the UAE.
Mr. Raju Menon, the Vice Chairman of ICAI Dubai Chapter added that the quality, commitment and ethical values of Indian Chartered Accountants are highly regarded by the employers in the Region and the Dubai Chapter stays committed to provide the members the required platform to upgrade their technical skills so as to face the challenges in this growing economy.
