Dubai (UAE) epitomizes what the focus of modern expos and world fairs have become; Dubai is a true ‘rags to riches’ fairy tale come true. Out of the sands of the Arabian Gulf, has sprung a major hub connecting peoples and commerce from around the world – very much in line with Dubai’s chosen theme as the host of the World Expo 2020 ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.’
In support of this theme, the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has proposed the sub-themes Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability’.
As a part of Dubai’s development into a global commercial center, leading educational institutions from around the world have been attracted to Dubai’s International Academic City. The Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Dubai, a top-tier business school within the region (as recognized by Forbes), recently signed a groundbreaking double-degree agreement between their 2-year MBA program and the 1-year Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)/ Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC: Zaragoza, Spain) Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
MIT and ZLC are recognized leaders at the forefront of research and education within this specialized discipline, supporting IMT – Dubai’s developing expertise in this area. This double-degree agreement represents opportunity to select, high-achieving students, educational mobility for selected students (bridging Dubai, Spain, and the US), whilst creating logistics and supply chain experts who will further connect minds and create a rich future within a sustainable, global business environment.
Dr. Janakiraman Moorthy, Director, IMT Dubai and Prof. Maria Jesus Saenz, Director of the Zaragoza Logistics Center signed the MoU at IMT Dubai campus in presence of Dr. Aravind Seth, Dr. Eric Van Genderen and Dr. Ajay Singhal.
