In the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdulmohsen Medeij Al-Medeij; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Industry, and representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, INJAZ-Kuwait hailed the success of its 7th National Company Program Competition that was held at the Salwa Sabah Al Ahmed Hall, on 23 and 24 May, 2014 where the winners of the competition were announced and honored during an awards ceremony.
A total of 20 student companies were represented this year by public and private high school and university students. Sponsored by Gulf Bank, the ‘Best Student Company of the Year 2014′ award for the Universities category went to ‘Skraab’ and for the high school category; ‘Go Kids’. The two winning companies will be participating in the regional competition. The ‘Most Innovative Product’ award was presented to ‘Mqloob.com’ for the universities category and to ‘Connect2′ for the high school category, which was sponsored by Alghanim Industries and last but not least, the ‘Student Company with the Best Social Impact’ award went to ‘Skraab’ for the universities category and ‘Go Kids’ for the high schools category, which was sponsored by Ali Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa Co.
The student companies were reviewed and assessed by a judging panel of high-profile local business leaders from the private sector. Winners were selected based on performance when presenting their company and the product or service they are offering through the project, and their performance during a set of interviews conducted by the panel throughout the two day event.
Commenting on this event, Rana Al-Nibari, CEO of INJAZ-Kuwait said: “I would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s competition. Their hard work paid off and we wish them and all the participating students the best of luck. I would also like to thank all teams which have taken part in this competition; you have all demonstrated the true meaning of dreaming, believing and achieving and we are very proud of you all. ”
The Company Program is one of INJAZ-Kuwait’s flagship programs, which was launched in 2006 with 305 students and has now grown to reach 2,957 students ever since.
