As part of its strategy which aims at strengthening the cooperation with different institution, and in order to support and develop Omani talent, the National Centre for Statistics and Information is providing on job training for a number of higher education students.
The program covers various statistical and information subjects.
The training program, which started earlier this month, will continue for two month. The 10 students that have joined the training program came from several different higher education institutions including; Sultan Qaboos University, Higher College of Technology, and other private colleges. The training program covers several subjects including statistics, analysis, IT, HR and Administration.
Commenting on the training program, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Riyami, Head of the Directorate of Strategy, Human Resource Development and Quality Assurance at NCSI said, “The Centre has coordinated with various higher educational institutions in the Sultanate to provide support, through training, to the students. This comes as part of the NCSI’s efforts to develop national human resources and equip the students with the skills needed to join the job market through practical on job training. The trainees will have the opportunity to learn from NCSI employees and gain skills in collecting and analyzing information and statistical data and prepare them for publication, in addition to other skills related to administration, IT and HR.”
Al Riyami added, “By the end of the program, the trainees will receive a comprehensive assessment for the skills they have gained and tasks that they have completed over the course of the training. This will also help in assessing the program goals. The center regularly develops programs, activities and events, by cooperating with educational institutions in order to enhance its role as the official statistics provider of the Sultanate. Aside from supporting and consolidating the national economy through cooperation and coordination with institutions, we also aim to work with them to qualify, train and develop young Omani talent in preparation for joining the job market.”
