As part of its efforts to develop work readiness within the Bahraini youth, and based on the requirements of the labour market to make Bahrainis the employees of choice, Tamkeen, in partnership with the Ministry of Education at City Centre Bahrain held the “A9eel in School” Competition. 10 secondary, 5 primary and 4 intermediate schools across Bahrain will participate in showcasing their projects during the exhibition that will be held within City Centre Mall.
Student teams from 20 secondary schools presented their business projects to the programme’s independent judging committee who assessed their final creative projects for the purpose of selecting the best 10 teams that will participate in the exhibition.
Al-Wehda Secondary School for boys won the first place, Isa Town Secondary school for girls won second place and the Al-Wafa Secondary School for Girls won third place in the competition. The winners were selected based on the scoring of the judging jury as well as the votes of the public.
The participating schools included: Al Hidd Secondary Girls School, Isa Town Secondary Girls School, Al-Shorooq Secondary Girls School, Omima Bint Al Naaman Secondary Girls School, Al Ahad Al Zaher Secondary Girls School, Khawla Secondary Girls School, Al Wafa Secondary Girls School, Al Muharraq Secondary Girls School, Al Wehda Secondary Boys School and Al Na’aim Secondary Boys School.
The student exhibition was part of the final phase of the “A9eel in School” programme, which extended over a full academic semester and covered 12 modules to prepare students for the final phase.
The “A9eel in School” programme is part of the efforts of both Tamkeen and the Ministry of Education to develop positive attitudes and practices and to instil basic work ethics among Bahraini youths to prepare them for the labour market.
The projects this year focused on the development of a practical marketing plan reflecting the seven values of A9eel of Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Acceptance, Accountability, Appreciation.
