The Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program ‘ALP’, a first-of-its-kind program that aims to empower talented young individuals with essential leadership qualities, unveiled the names of the 20 participants of the program’s second edition.
Hailing from across the GCC, the participants will be commencing theoretical and practical classes of the Program following the official launch ceremony, which will be organized at Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort.
“We are extremely delighted to be given the opportunity to sponsor the launch of this coveted event as we strongly believe in the process of nurturing talented individuals at a young age which will lead them on a path of success towards a bright future,” said Michele Frignani, General Manager, Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort, on September 21, in the presence of HH Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Program.
Out of 496 applicants, 40 successful candidates were invited to sit for the psychometric test, following the personal interview process. Those candidates who proceed successfully through the psychometric test were selected to participate in the six-month long ALP.
The 20 candidates selected for the program are Mohamed Al Dhaheri, Faisal Albalooshi, Hessa Al Nuaimi, Sherina Yousef, Hanifa Ahmed, Hamed Alraeesi, Abdalla Nuaman, Abdulla Al Haidan, Ahmad Al Dhawyani, Hedaya Tanesh Obaid, Maitha Al Suwaidi, Saeed Hamad Al Shaqsi and Hanan Al Hashmi (from the UAE), Lulwa Al Mannai and Latifa Al Khalifa (from Bahrain), Haila Al Rakaf and Nada Al Harthi (from the KSA), Zahir Al Abri and Badriya Al Mufadhli (from Oman), and Khalid Al Mahdi (from Kuwait).
Commenting on the occasion, Faisal Al Nuaimi, Head of the Committee at the ALP, said, “We are pleased to announce the final list of participants in the 2nd Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program, following a rigorous multiphase selection process that included personal interviews and psychometric testing. Over the last few months, we have exerted great efforts to select 20 candidates from about 500 applicants. The selection process was highly competitive, with almost all the applicants having the qualities of future leaders”.
The second edition of the ALP has been the first to invite applications from all GCC nationals between 25 and 35 years of age. 289 applications came from the United Arab Emirates, 50 from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 31 from Oman, 16 from Bahrain, and 10 from Kuwait.
He added, “The second edition of the program saw tremendous response and a large number of applications from all the GCC countries, as we have, for the first time this year, expanded eligibility include all ambitious young GCC men and women. This response indicates the efficiency and success of the program as an ideal platform for talented and determined young men and women to learn new skills, broaden their horizons, and step up to become the new successful leaders of the future. Through the world’s top leadership development programs, we want to create a new generation of young and empowered leaders – it is our gift from Ajman to the region.”
Commenting on the selection, Mohammed Al Dhaheri, from the Ministry of Interior, a UAE participant onto the program, said, “I am extremely thrilled with the participation in ALP, which will be instrumental to develop my professional, technical and management skills. Joining this high-level program is the beginning for ambitious future and boundless horizons.”
Nada Al Harthi from Saudi Technology Development & Investment, said, “Participation in this program offers an opportunity to hone my leadership skills and acquire any skill I might still lack. The program will make a positive difference to my life and will give me a boost forward. I will also have the opportunity to pass what I will learn on to others.”
Badriya Al Mufadhl from the Royal Court (Diwan) of the Sultanate of Oman, said, “I have ambitions and ALP is very important to understand leadership science and acquire greater skills with regards to solving problems and making the right decision.”
Latifa Al Khalifa from the Kingdom of Bahrain said: “Participation in ALP is based on a willingness to learn fundamentals of leadership and gain profound knowledge on this science. No doubt, joining this program will be extremely important in improving my personal, professional, and social life.”
Khalid Al Mahdi from Kuwait remarked: “There are a lot of pros to participation in this innovative program. Besides the significant role in developing the necessary skills and for leadership personality and professional abilities, it is an ideal opportunity to network and build relationships.”
The Program has been designed to impart the principles of effective strategy and management to students in practice and in theory, as well as to provide essential training around intellectual, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Over a period of six months encompassing 180 direct learning hours – six hours per day for 5 working days per month – successful delegates will receive in-depth training in key areas of leadership in a carefully designed program consisting of six distinct modules comprising both class room and experience-based instruction that will be complemented with special input sessions on emotional intelligence and, to prepare candidates for a rapidly evolving world, the leadership requirements of various media, including social networking platforms.
