HH. Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai has visited Dubai Municipality stall at Careers UAE, now going on at World Trade Centre and listened to the officials’ briefing.
He was accompanied by Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General and other higher officials of the civic body.
He reviewed various programs of Dubai Municipality in the field of recruitment and training as well as initiatives aiming at emiratisation in jobs.
Dubai Municipality is an active participant in the career event.
While talking about Dubai Municipality’s participation, Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah said, the civic body has been keen on participating in the career event to support the talented emirati youths to find out exact positions they are qualified for.
He said, in line with the directives of the wise leadership of Dubai, the municipality has been keen on attracting qualified youths passed out from various universities in the country ever since from early eighties.
He opined that UAE has a great treasure of human resources which can be utilized locally, regionally and globally for the development of the society.
From his part, Khalid AbdulRaheem, Director, Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality said participation of the civic body at Careers UAE comes in tune with the strategic plan of Dubai and within the efforts to fulfil the aims with regards to ease the emiratization program in various leadership domains.
He said Dubai Municipality is able to attract near about 300 talented emirati professionals annually through such kind of efforts including the career expo.
The civic body has been successful in appointing emirati youths in various domains such as engineering, science, health & safety, food safety, veterinary science and the like, he said.
He added saying that once they are appointed Dubai Municipality has the mechanism to develop their skills and to improve their expertise through a range of training programs.
Nearly 450 training programs are conducted by the Training Centre functioning under Human Resources Department, he said.
He said the department has prepared trained teams to receive and to examine curriculum vitae of emirati job seekers according to the standards and methods approved by Dubai government to capitalize the talent and to ensure quality and excellence in all corporate sections.
According to him, Dubai Municipality has a total of 3885 employees in which 1935 are UAE nationals. Out of 1157 female employees Dubai Municipality has now, 1002, the lions share, are nationals.
Last year, the civic body recruited as many as 250 emirati employees.
It is noted that Dubai Municipality carried out ‘Arshidnee’ campaign in collaboration with ministry of education, for the third consecutive year, to find out talents from schools and colleges and to educate them how to correctly go forward in line with their aspirations and ability in the career world.
Near about 250 students participated this year’s program.
