Ebsar says number of visually impaired patients surged 131% last year

According to a report by Saudi-based Ebsar Foundation, the number of people with visual impairments over the age of 50 in the kingdom surged 131% from 2012 to 2013, Arab News has reported. Although retinal diseases generally cause visual impairment, diabetes still causes the most visual disabilities in the kingdom, said head of Ebsar, Mohammed Tawfik Bellow.
