Saudi Arabia’s acting health minister, Adel Fakeih has announced that the ministry plans to stop renewal or issuance of licences to facilities that fail to meet the government’s quality standards, Arab News has reported. As part of the plan, the ministry will make it mandatory for every health facility in the kingdom to obtain a Certificate of Conformity before it is allowed to operate. “Improving quality is an endless process,” Fakieh said. “All the hospitals and health care providers in the kingdom, whether private or public, should continuously work to improve the quality of their work and services provided.”
