Omani Ministry of Health announced that it has issued a statement calling upon citizens to stay away from visiting the central and western African countries “until further notice” due to Ebola outbreak in some African countries. The ministry urged those who have visited Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria and Congo to visit the nearest health centre upon their return even though they have no complaint of the symptoms of the disease, Oman Daily Observer reported. Meanwhile, the ministry held a workshop to discuss the ‘National Emergency Plan for Ebola Response’ which was devised by the national working team tasked with Ebola response in collaboration with the medical response sector and public health under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Under-Secretary of Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health, at Safeer Plaza Hotel Muscat.
