Dubai Health Authority’s Information Technology (IT) department received a delegation of 26 high ranking government officials and executives from Sudan. The delegation visited the DHA to gain expertise and knowledge in terms of implementing smart information technology (IT) initiatives.
The delegation was received by Mubaraka Ibrahim, Director of Information Technology at the DHA and the DHA IT team.
Ibrahim said the DHA IT initiatives are in line with Dubai Smart Government and are designed to provide latest IT services to customers in a user-friendly and efficient manner.
Ahmed Al Omari, Head of Section at the DHA IT department provided an overview of the IT roadmap and said: “In line with the Smart Government initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the DHA has chalked out a roadmap towards total IT solutions that will significantly enhance not only customer experience but also the manner in which healthcare is delivered and managed. DHA’s roadmap includes smart operations, smart hospitals and smart applications.”
He elaborated and said that the roadmap towards total IT solutions will significantly enhance customer experience and that the DHA has designed smart services before, during and after a patient’s visit to any of the DHA healthcare facilities.
He provided an overview of the DHA app and said that in addition to the website, the DHA already has an existing app (DHA), which is free of cost and can be downloaded from any smart platform.
The app allows customers to view prescriptions, get prescription alerts, the apps also provide details about healthcare packages available for the public including women’s health, smoking packages and diabetes packages. Moreover patients can synchronize their children’s vaccination schedules to get timely alerts.
The app has a feature called My Records, where customers can write and save your health details such as Blood Pressure reading, Blood Glucose level, Weight, Height and BMI.
He said the aim of all DHA’s smart services is to ensure customers have access to useful information on their fingertips and that health facilities move towards a paperless environment to enhance efficiency.
