Tawam Hospital, in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine and part of the SEHA healthcare system, announced details of the Second International Respiratory Conference being held from September 18-20 at the Danat Al Ain Resort Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The inaugural edition of the conference was held in 2013 and, as a result of its success and positive delegate feedback, it is now an annual feature on the region’s healthcare calendar.
With this year’s theme ‘Inspiring Best Practice in Respiratory Care’, the conference is set to be gathering acclaimed respiratory therapists, researchers, educators, authors and leaders in the field from North America, Europe and the Middle East – including doctors and physicians from Tawam Hospital.
The three-day conference programme will cover a range of specialist topics in respiratory therapy with the aim of enhancing knowledge among the region’s healthcare professionals and raising local and regional standards of treatment and care. Topics which will be covered at this year’s conference include: the evolution of respiratory care, advances in mechanical ventilation management, patient ventilator synchrony, homecare and long-term facility respiratory care, pulmonary rehabilitation, use of computerized models for respiratory care, asthma medication and treatment devices, and patient care. Presentations by global and regional experts will provide delegates with the very latest information on best practices and the most recent developments in respiratory therapy, research, diagnosis and treatment.
There will also be six interactive workshops with 50 participants in each session. These workshops will cover for updates on airway clearance therapy management and devices, mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive), mechanical ventilation of neonates, and the newest mode of ventilation Proportional Assist Ventilation (PAV) and Neurally-Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA).
