The municipality of Ajman is planning to introduce new guidelines on the products that groceries can sell in residential areas across the emirate, Khaleej Times has reported. Under the proposed rules, groceries will not be allowed to sell any kind of medicines, including painkillers, vegetables and fruits. The exterior and interior of these outlets would be uniform and they would be asked to display the municipality logo. The municipality will give grocery owners one year to implement the directives. New groceries will be given their licence only after the municipality is assured that they will follow the new regulations.
