City Centre Mirdif join hands with the Department of Economic Development to promote fair trade practices in Dubai.
Until July 23rd, mall visitors at City Centre Mirdif are encouraged to visit the Consumer Rights Majlis at the Central Galleria in the mall and learn about consumer rights.
The event is an excellent platform to empower consumers to learn more about their rights and responsibilities.
Available tools and resources on making smart choices when purchasing goods or services will be shared with the public, including accurate information on the marketplace. Samples of counterfeit goods are displayed and brochures that serve as an everyday guide for customers are distributed.
Abdulaziz Bin Hathboor, Director of Consumer Protection at Department of Economic Development said: “Our renewed efforts in protecting consumer rights stemmed from the goal of Dubai to become one of the best shopping destinations in the world. The retail sector plays a major role in this regard and we are responsible in ensuring that this sector remains transparent and regulated to fuel its continued growth.”
“We aim to inform the public not only about their rights but also their responsibilities. Familiarizing them with the consumer protection law is a huge factor in avoiding disputes between retailers and customers,” Hathboor continues.
Mohamed Al Jasmi, Mall Manager of City Centre Mirdif, said:”Being a key player in the industry, Majid Al Futtaim is committed to improving the quality of the retail sector. City Centre Mirdif proudly supports this Government-led initiative in regulating trading rules and protecting consumers from unfair trading in the marketplace.
